What Is Web Hosting?

Web Hosting is where we provide space on our servers for your website and email. We can register a new domain name for you, or host an existing domain name, which will be used for your web site and email.

A Web Hosting service allows you to publish your blog, online store, website or any project on the Internet. Once signed up, you simply log in and upload your website. It will then be available online instantly, for anyone to visit.
How do I purchase a domain name/hosting plan?

Simply register your domain name through our domain registration page. Once your order is placed, your hosting plan will be automatically created and you will receive login details for the control panel via email.

Which operating systems do you use on your servers?

We offer both Microsoft Windows Hosting and Linux Hosting. If your website is going to be built in Wordpress, Drupal or Joomla then we would recommend you choose Linux. If your website is being built in .NET then you need Microsoft Windows.

What happens if I go over my disk space limit?

Our hosting plans are designed so that the diskspace allocated within each package should be sufficient for any web site. You can monitor how much disk space you have been using via the control panel. It is important that you monitor this to make sure that your site doesn’t incur additional charges unnecessarily. If you feel that you are likely to exceed your allocated diskspace, then you can choose to pay the reasonable charges (see T&Cs) or you can upgrade your package to increase the allowance.

Do you provide telephone support?

We most certainly do and unlike other providers our support number is the same as our Sales number (01252 63 60 60) not some premium 0870 number that charges you a fortune per minute!

Why don't you offer "unlimited storage"?

As we're sure you know  - some hosts may offer 'unlimited' storage. The reason why we don't offer or advertise 'unlimited' disk space is very simple... Because it is NOT possible. If you read the small print (usually in the T&Cs) you’ll find that it’s only unlimited until you go over their 'normal site usage'.
With HOST100, your account's disk space resources are guaranteed when you purchase. We DO NOT overload our servers, instead of being "unlimited" and incurring hefty fines, you are only responsible for paying for the resources you use.

How quickly can I upgrade my web hosting account?

Your web hosting account can be automatically upgraded in minutes at any time of the day. Our cloud hosting allows you to purchase resources only when you need them, and we're happy for you to scale back and save money when you no longer require the additional resources.

What's the minimum contract?

Our web hosting plans are flexible and the minimum contract period is only one month for a VPS or 12 months for a website. If there is a sudden change in demand for your site, you can make changes to your account at any time. We do offer discounts for services purchased for 12 months, so to get the best value look at the annual billing options.

Do I get email with my Hosting Package?

All our hosting accounts include email addresses/mailboxes as standard. Simply log into the control panel and create and modify the accounts and addresses in the mail section.

Which control panel is offered to manage my web hosting account?

For Windows we use WebsitePanel and for Linux we use cPanel. Both are popular choices for their respective platforms and allow us to automatically provision our hosting services, so you can get instant access to set up websites, email and more.
